Alegre y brillante

Hace dos años celebré el cumpleaños de Balanchine en este blog -era el entusiasmo de nuestro reencuentro- mientras intentaba convencer de su grandiosidad a un grupo de alumnos escépticos.

El año pasado celebré el cumpleaños de Balanchine escribiendo un post para el blog de la Fundación Loewe, como quien lanza un mensaje en una botella al mar.

Este año lo celebro en pleno montaje de su Allegro Brillante, en la Compañía Nacional de Danza. Fue precisamente Nanette Glushak -responsable en Madrid de su puesta en escena- quien ayer, durante el ensayo, musitó: “Mañana es su cumpleaños”.

Two years ago I celebrated Balanchine‘s birthday writing a post in this blog. It was the enthusiasm of our reunion, while I was trying to persuade a group of skeptical students of his grandeur.

Last year I celebrated Balanchine’s birthday writing a post for the blog of the Fundación Loewe, as if throwing a message in a bottle into the sea.

This year I celebrate it working in the staging of his Allegro Brillante, at the Compañía Nacional de Danza. It was precisely Nanette Glushak –responsible for this staging in Madrid– who whispered yesterday, during the rehearsal: “Tomorrow is his birthday.”
